The 2022 Math and AI 4 Girls Award Ceremony will be on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at 2PM EST.​

These girls, a group drawn exclusively from last year's top scorers, have been exemplary in their talent, passion and thoughtfulness.

Maggie Bai
Maggie Bai
Maggie is a junior at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. She has been passionate about math since a young age, and discovered her passion in competition math when she was in 5th grade. Since then, she has participated in competitions such as MathCOUNTS, the AMC series, AIME, and more.
Maggie joined Math and AI 4 Girls as an 8th grader, and has since then been inspired enormously by the team, and the many young girls who have submitted entires for the competition. She hopes that this competition can have a positive impact in making math and AI more accessible to young girls.
Chinmayi Goyal
Chinmayi is a senior at Yorktown High School in New York. She is passionate about math, science, and robotics and has competed in various competitions such as the USA(J)MO, Math Prize for Girls, the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament and Yale Girls in Math. In addition, her current research focuses on the application of AI, specifically deep reinforcement learning, to solve real-world movement problems.
Chinmayi has been associated with the organization for the past four years and is a political advocate for women's rights. She is very passionate about empowering girls and hopes that the efforts of the organization can continue to encourage them in their pursuits.

​Ivy Guo has been participating in math and programming competitions for many years and has achieved top scores in the AMC series and at Math Prize for Girls. Outside of math she loves attempting various craft projects.
Sophia Jin

Sophia Jin is a junior at Liberty High School. She is very passionate about mathematics and STEM and this is her third year on the MA4G team. Sophia hopes that the MA4G competition will foster young girls' love for math and AI. Sophia has qualified for AIME three times. Outside of math, she enjoys drawing and dancing.

Adya Garg is a sophomore at Briar Woods High School and the Academies of Loudoun. She has had a passion for math since 3rd grade, and is a 3x AIME qualifier and 2x Math Prize for Girls qualifier. Outside of math, she enjoys FRC robotics, competing in USACO, and listening to music. She hopes to share her love for math and STEM with young students around the world!
Eileen Wu

Eileen Wu is a freshman in Maryland who has been participating in math competitions since sixth grade. She is a two-time AIME qualifier, and has participated in ACSL and USACO. Outside of math, she enjoys reading and playing volleyball.

Ellie Su is a freshman at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. She has participated in various STEM competitions, such as USA(J)MO, MP4G, USACO, ACSL, F=MA, Science Olympiad, and more. Beyond STEM, Ellie enjoys playing the piano and cello, teaching, and working on mini research projects.

Angie is a junior at East Ridge High School who has been involved in competition math since 5th grade, having participated in a variety of math competitions as a captain of the Minnesota All-State Math Team. She received an Honorable Mention on the USAJMO and Math Prize for Girls. She loves teaching at LIVE with Po-Shen Loh and coaching her local MATHCOUNTS team. Besides math, she enjoys congressional debate, piano, and tennis and considers herself to be a die-hard football fan. She hopes that MA4G can inspire girls to take on STEM related careers and start their own initiatives.

Fiona Liu is a freshman at Saratoga High School in California. From a young age, Fiona has been passionate about STEM, participating in math and robotics competitions throughout elementary and middle school. She is a three-time AIME qualifier and has also been a top placer at other math competitions, such as the Berkeley Math Tournament. Outside of math, Fiona enjoys debate and marching band, where she plays the clarinet. She’s excited to share her love of STEM with more girls as a member of the MA4G team!

Yunong Wu is a freshman at Rye Country Day School who has loved STEM since a young age. She has participated in various math competitions since 5th grade such as USA(J)MO and Math Prize for Girls Olympiad. Outside of math, Yunong is the captain of her club ice hockey team and plays the flute and piano.

Andrea Chen is a senior in AAST at Bergen County Academies, and has been participating in math competitions since 5th grade. She attended several math summer programs, qualified for AIME multiple times, and was an MPfG invitee. Outside of math, she is an oboist and enjoys coding and listening to music.

Alice Lee is a sophomore from North Oaks, Minnesota. She has been competing in math competitions for many years, and is a 2x AIME qualifier. Outside of math competitions, she is an International Chess Master and ranked #1 for U.S. girls under age 20. Angelina Wang is a freshman at Stratford Academy and has been passionate about STEM since she was a child. She has medaled in international math tournaments and state science olympiads. She has also been placed in numerous math and computer science competitions hosted by local universities and the GCTM. In her free time, she enjoys participating in the mock trial team, the color guard, and writing poetry.

Evelyn is a freshman at South Forsyth High School who loves math, chess, coding, and writing. She is excited to share her passion for math with other girls! Outside of math, she has earned international awards in chess, such as 3rd place in the 2018 World Cadet Chess Championship and top player under 13 at the 2023 SPFGI, and volunteers to teach coding to elementary schoolers. She enjoys reading and playing piano in her free time. She is thrilled to be a part of the MA4G team this year!
Michelle Zheng

Michelle, an 8th grader in Massachusetts, is passionate about math and science. Competing since 10, she won numerous math and science competitions, including the most recent regional Sharon Math and Science Tournament. She (the only girl!) and her teammates also won 3rd place in the State MathCount competition. Outside of academics, she enjoys competitive figure skating, track, and reading. She is currently a U.S. Gold Medalist in figure skating.
Rory Hu

Rory is a freshman at Groton School who is passionate about math and science. She’s currently interested in exploring AI after previous environmental research. Rory is a two-time AIME qualifier, a top winner at Broadcom MASTERS 2022 (now the Thermo Fisher Scientific JIC), and a Class of 2028 Caroline D. Bradley Scholar. Beyond STEM, Rory enjoys using her voice through activities such as journalism and debate. Formerly a reporter with TIME For Kids and then Nickelodeon’s Nick News, she has interviewed several notable figures and now leads her own youth journalism nonprofit.

Helen Wan is a high schooler in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a top placer at MATHCOUNTS state, a Colorado Science and Engineering Fair state first place winner, and a Thermo-Fisher JIC top 300 finalists. She loves learning physics and math because of the logical process and explanation behind each answer. Apart from academics, Helen does various sports including cross country, swimming, and tennis.

Manalee Chowdhury is a freshman at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, though she grew up in the Bay Area. With a deep passion for mathematics from a young age, she has become a multiple-time qualifier for the AIME and is eager to inspire and empower more women to pursue their dreams in STEM. Outside of her academic pursuits, Manalee enjoys writing poetry, playing tennis, and staying active as a member of her school’s swim team. She is also a dedicated flutist and is always striving to find ways to blend creativity and discipline in all aspects of her life.

Lulu is an 8th grader at Davidson Academy Online with a passion for STEM and creative problem-solving. She has participated in various math competitions such as MATHCOUNTS, Math Kangaroo, and AMC 8. Besides math, she enjoys writing and research, with recognitions such as Very High Commendation in the John Locke Institute's Philosophical Essay Competition and Top 300 Junior Innovators Award in the Thermo-Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge. Outside of academics, she plays tennis and soccer, and enjoys drawing and reading YA fiction. A strong advocate for girls in science, she hopes MA4G will inspire the next generation of female STEM leaders.

Hello! My name is Eesha Vanamala and I am a high schooler from New Jersey. I love competition math mostly because of the non-routineness involved. Outside of math, I love learning more about humans and running. Through being on the Math and AI 4 Girls team, I hope I can help increase the representation of young girls in math and AI!
